SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Sales Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for advanced statistical analysis, pricing analytics, and margin management. This role plays a critical part in identifying, presenting, and correcting margin leakage through pricing strategy, bid analysis, rebates, promotions, and profitability modeling.

The position requires deep analytical expertise, strong business acumen, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for senior leadership. This role supports large customer bids, pricing initiatives, and strategic decision-making while maintaining a working knowledge of the product portfolio, supply chains, and pricing systems. The Sales Business Intelligence Analyst also serves as a key analytical backup to the Pricing Manager and Sales Analytics leadership, ensuring continuity of insight and execution.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Lead pricing analysis across customers, channels, and product segments, including price increases and one-off pricing scenarios
  • Analyze and support large customer bids and cross-channel opportunities, including completion of bid forms and integration of PIMS and related data
  • Maintain and enhance the Profitability Tool (Historical GP2) to assess customer and product-level margin performance
  • Identify margin leakage and conduct deeper-dive reporting to determine drivers of performance shortfalls
  • Analyze promotional performance and scenarios to assess ROI and margin impact
  • Serve as the primary contact for sales analytics, sales reporting, and CRM (Salesforce) integration


  • Develop, maintain, and deliver recurring and situational ad-hoc reporting to support Sales, Pricing, and Leadership decisions
  • Update and maintain SAP tables and system feeds within our internal quoting system
  • Maintain and update customer-specific and distributor matrix pricing workbooks
  • Configure and support SAP pricing, rebate, and commission structures as required
  • Manage and analyze claim backs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution


  • Support annual rebate processes, including rebate-eligible product analysis, customer classification, and rebate meeting data pulls
  • Act as analytical backup for the Pricing Manager and Sales Analytics Manager, ensuring continuity of analysis and insight


  • Communicate complex analytical findings clearly and effectively to management, including navigating difficult or sensitive discussions with professionalism and empathy

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to work effectively with large, complex datasets
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Tableau, and Salesforce; SAP experience preferred
  • Statistical knowledge sufficient to interpret trends, correlations, and business drivers
  • High-level business acumen with strong fundamental and common-sense business understanding
  • Ability to clearly explain analytical viewpoints and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Comfortable engaging in difficult, high-stakes conversations with empathy and professionalism
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment



JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, analytics, or other applicable major
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience required; 5+ years strongly preferred
  • Experience in pricing, analytics, business intelligence, or commercial analytics within a consumer or industrial products environment
  • Experience developing insights from multi-source data and translating them into business recommendations
