Here's what you'd do:

  • Performs routine manufacturing engineering work requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Working as part of a Manufacturing Engineering Group, the primary area of responsibility is supporting the development and mature production programs in the fabrication shop.
  • This position reports to a manufacturing engineering group leader along with Manufacturing Engineering Technicians, Senior Manufacturing Engineering Technicians, Manufacturing Engineer/Programmers, Associate Manufacturing Engineers, and Senior Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Applying learned engineering techniques, the incumbent independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard manufacturing engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • He/She uses judgment in developing, adapting, and modifying manufacturing engineering procedures.
  • In pre-production and production phases of a program, the manufacturing.
  • The engineer will determine manufacturing procedures, establish operation sequencing, prepare tooling and gauging lists, prepare and proveout N/C programs, and write detailed operation sheets to produce complex machined parts and sub-assemblies to meet engineering drawings.
  • He/She will also prepare engineered or estimated time standards for setup and run hours for each operation.
  • The incumbent provides technical support to the production shops, solving problems and improving processes related to the parts they are responsible for.
  • These problems arise for any number of reasons, such as tooling, machine tool, gauging, heat treating, and plating.
  • The solution to these problems needs the Manufacturing Engineer's decision alone, or may involve contacting and working with other members of the Manufacturing Engineering Department, client Product or Design Engineers, Quality Assurance personnel, M & P Engineers, Inspectors, Production Supervision, Purchasing, Production Scheduling, or client vendors.
  • As a result, the Manufacturing Engineer not only possesses the human relations skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of people, but must also have the initiative to contact and coordinate with other groups when a problem solution is needed.
  • The incumbent will be needed to use computer systems in preparing operation sheets, N/C programs, and standards.
  • Additionally, the incumbent will work with various client engineering groups in an ongoing effort to apply concurrent engineering principles.
  • For training and development purposes, assignments may include some work that is typical of a higher level.

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $43.00 - $50.00/ hr.

Hours: 40 hrs/Week. (2nd shift).

Length: Contract (4 months).

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within a machining or fabrication environment.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Assembly / Soldering Technician.
  • Automated SMT experience.
  • Reflow.
