Part-time Education Arrival Facilitator: School Field Trips

Job Description:

The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden Education Department is seeking positive, enthusiastic, hardworking individuals with a strong interest in working around and communicating with teachers and students. Arrival Facilitators will be the first friendly face schools meet at the Zoo. Their role is to help instill excitement for the Zoo field trip and convey important information to teachers to ensure their safe and speedy arrival and preparedness for their Zoo experience!

Job Duties

• Facilitator responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  
  
  
  • Climb onto school buses as they arrive in the bus parking lot to welcome groups and convey field trip arrival and check-in information to teachers.
  • Work closely with other facilitators, a supervisor, and the Zoo's Visitor Experience Team to facilitate a smooth arrival at the Zoo for registered school groups.
  • Answer questions from students, teachers, and chaperones as groups exit the bus and head to admissions.
  • Multi-tasking and problem solving while maintaining a positive attitude.
  
  
  
  

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age.
• Experience and/or strong interest in working with the public.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills. * Willingness to work in an outdoor environment in all weather and temperatures.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs., stand and walk for up to 3 hours, climb bus steps, use a two-way radio, and read/edit a spreadsheet from a mobile device.

Duration: Part-time, M-F, late March - early June, 8:30-11:45am
