Job DescriptionThe Foreman at TSTC plays a pivotal role in the operation and upkeep of our facilities including maintenance, custodial, or roads and grounds. This position ensures that all facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety and efficiency. The Foreman will lead a team of skilled and semi-skilled teammates, coordinate daily activities, manage projects, and ensure the campus environment is clean, safe, and well-maintained. Essential Functions

The employee will demonstrate TSTC's Core Values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.

Team Leadership
Lead and assign daily tasks to the maintenance, custodial, or groundskeeping team. Monitor work quality and provide training and guidance as needed.

Repairs and Preventive Maintenance
Oversee routine maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and grounds. Support the implementation of preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of campus assets.

Documentation and Equipment Management
Maintain detailed service and maintenance records. Manage check-out and use of tools, supplies, and materials for assigned projects.

Safety and Compliance
Ensure work is performed according to applicable codes, institutional policies, and safety standards. Promote the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety practices.

Facility Access and Vehicle Use
Access buildings for inspections and repair tasks. Operate state vehicles and equipment in a safe and compliant manner.

Communication and Coordination
Serve as the point of contact for campus departments regarding facilities tasks and provide regular updates to supervisory staff.

Physical Requirements
Perform tasks requiring strength, frequent lifting of 30-60 lbs, and work in awkward or physically demanding positions. Regularly work in outdoor or harsh environmental conditions including dust, grease, noise, and extreme temperatures.

Education & Experience

Minimum Qualifications
Combination of vocational training and experience totaling six years in facilities operations
Knowledge of maintenance, custodial, or groundskeeping practices
Valid Texas Driver's License and insurability under TSTC liability policy

Skills & Abilities

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Coordinates with campus stakeholders and supervisors to support maintenance priorities and share updates.

Physical and Environmental Readiness
Capable of physically demanding tasks in variable conditions. Uses tools, equipment, and safety gear effectively.
