Overview The analyst position will partner with operating areas to develop, track, and manage operational and financial plans. The analyst will perform analyses to help identify improved ways to manage costs and support forward-looking decision-making by operating areas.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Partner with Project Management Office and Construction to develop, track, and monitor current working estimates for various projects within Steams capital and retirement portfolios.
- Provide monthly and weekly reports to stakeholders, performs spend driver analysis using relevant financial systems.
- Participate in capital optimization and governance processes.
- Attend key customer meetings, review forecast assumptions and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Enter budget information into the budget system. (e.g. Oracle ePBCS) and update integrated portfolio management system (e.g. PI 360), as required.
- Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and consistency across financial reports.
- Support PMO and Construction in reviewing and validating accruals and associated payments.
- Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and PMO to gather inputs for budgets, forecasts, and regulatory filings.
- Assist in automation and streamlining routine FP&A reports and tracking tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support organizational objectives.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Data Analysis, or a related quantitative field and 2 years of relevant work experience or
- Master's Degree and 1 year of relevant work experience
Preferred Education/Experience
- Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Data Analysis, or a related quantitative field and 1 year of relevant work experience
Relevant Work Experience
- 2 years Demonstrated quantitative experience, required.
- 2 years Demonstrated leadership and communication experience, required.
- Less than 2 years Understanding of ConEds business (e.g., services provided, current events) and FP&A function (e.g., objective, role, deliverables), required.
- 2 years Proficient use of Microsoft Office, required.
- 2 years Understanding of basic accounting principles (e.g., income statement, balance sheet), required.
- 2 years Demonstrated critical thinking capabilities and proactive qualities, required.
- Less than 2 years Work experience with management reporting or budgeting tools such as Oracle or SAP, preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
