JOB SUMMARY The Emergency Medicinepart-time Clinical Pharmacist is a licensed pharmacist who is responsible for applying knowledge, skill, competence and clinical expertise in our emergency care center. The clinical pharmacist will work in Grady's new emergency care center on a part-time basis as a patient care provider for monitoring of therapy such as renal function adjustment, anticoagulation and drug interaction monitoring. The roles of this clinical pharmacist are that of advanced practitioner, educator, consultant, and leader. The Clinical Pharmacistapplies his/her knowledge of, and clinical training in, pharmacotherapy to directly influence and impact physician prescribing to improve the use of medications throughout the Health System and to enhance positive drug therapy outcomes. The Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist, acting as an integral member of the healthcare team, assumes responsibility for the appropriate selection and monitoring patient's therapy through direct patient care activities as well as serving as a liaison between the pharmacy and other healthcare practitioners. Other functions may include precepting pharmacy PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents anddoctoral-level pharmacy students and to promote rational and cost-effective use of medications at Grady Health System. This position may require working on all shifts including evenings, midnights and weekends. QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctorate of Pharmacy degree plus 1 year post-Pharm.D. experience required
- ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency or Doctor of Pharmacy degree at least 5 years of post-Pharm.D. experience in job-related pharmacy practice, or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy at least 6 years' experience in job-related pharmacy practice at GHS
- PGY-2 Emergency Medicine or Critical Care Pharmacy Residency preferred
- Fully licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of Georgia or, eligible for full licensure within 90 days through reciprocity or exam
