This position pays $17.85 per hour. Employer paid medical insurance is provided through the Health & Welfare benefit. This position supports a dining facility that operates 7 days a week. Employees will not be scheduled all seven days. The hours are 1:30 PM until 8:00 PM.

Job Summary

Work under the direction of the Supervisor - Cafeteria Zone. Follow prescribed steps after receiving instructions on how to perform required tasks. Supervisor - Cafeteria Zone observes the work to determine whether it is performed properly.

Primary Duties

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.

• Replace glassware, dishes, and silverware and refill condiment containers. Wipe and wash tables and countertops.
• Clean work area, utensils, and equipment; remove garbage; mop floors; clean walls, windows, and tables.
• Use chemical solutions and operate electric dish washing machine and/or wash glassware, pots and pans and kitchen utensils by hand.
• Assist in other areas as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintain the following in a sanitary condition: equipment, work areas, utensils, and tables.
• Perform a wide variety of manual tasks in kitchen or dining area of a food activities, which involves light to moderate physical effort and is done according to established procedures.
• Perform ware-washing, and keep pot and pan areas organized prior to, during and after meals.
• Notify supervisor immediately of malfunctioning, inoperative, unsafe, or hazardous equipment cleaned or used.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred.
• No previous food service experience is required.
• Must pass a military installation background check.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Capable of providing excellent customer service.
• Well-organized and self-directed team player.
