- Solves organizational information problems and requirements by analyzing requirements; designing computer programs; recommending system controls and protocols.
- Defines and documents customer business functions and processes.
- Consults with client stakeholders to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.
- Acts as a liaison between client departmental end-users, contracting vendor technical analysts, information technology analysts, consultants and other vendors in the analysis, design, configuration and user acceptance testing of financial systems to ensure optimal operational performance.
- Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users.
- Tracks and fully documents changes for functional and business specifications; writes detailed universally understood procedures for permanent records and for use in training.
- Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver changes.
- Participates in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality.
Additional Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert for the internal User Acceptance Test team.
- Lead JAD sessions with clients and end users to elicit requirements.
- Development of test scenarios, test cases for utilization by the user team.
- Requirements development and management.
- Develop business process flows and use cases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited university such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, etc.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing using language understandable to management and development teams.
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Business Analyst.
- Proficiency and experience in methods of developing business process specifications.
- Procedures and methods for testing business functions within computer systems.
- Principles and practices of producing effective and traceable project documentation including requirements, use cases, manuals, test scenarios, requirements traceability matrix (RTM) and user acceptance test cases/scripts.
- Experience and/or training in VBA and/or SQL.
- Ability to acquire subject matter expertise in the functions and activities of the department or other assigned work unit, including applicable laws, rules, regulations, procedures and technical operations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with different contracting vendors.
- Provide work direction to a quality assurance testing team.
- Ability to use troubleshooting and analytical skills; apply technical competency with strong computer skills; utilize time management skills and multi-tasking capabilities; develop and document business and processes, functions and procedures; handle multiple and parallel projects.
- Effectively conduct requirements and use case walkthroughs for both business experts and a technical audience.
- Knowledge and experience in the secondary mortgage market industry.
