Description

The Renaissance Minneapolis Bloomington Hotel is seeking a creative, skilled, guest-focused Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join their team of fun-spirited members! Must work evenings and weekends. Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in supervising all food and beverage operations to ensure the highest quality standards are met for food, service, cleanliness, and the marketing of all food & beverage operations.

The 250+ room hotel, with nearly 5,000 square feet of meeting space, is conveniently located for both business and leisure travelers. Responsibilities and Duties: Hire, train, supervise, and schedule Food and Beverage staff in accordance with business needs,
productivity, and service standards. Assist in developing menus and Food and Beverage marketing strategies.



  • Implement new menus and promotions, such as holiday and special event promotions.
  • Utilize computer equipment to analyze forecast, cost, and revenue reports.
  • Make decisions based on that information to ensure the maximization of profits.
  • Observe food and beverage outlet operations.
  • Takes needed action to ensure standards of product presentation and service are being maintained.
  • Taste test food and beverage products for consistency.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and coordinate special arrangements and requests in Food and
    Beverage outlets.


Specific Job Knowledge and Skills: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, and be able to explain and
demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations: Visit and observe competitive hotel and restaurant operations to keep abreast of marketing.



  • Techniques and promotions.
  • Perform duties of restaurant manager when necessary to ensure proper management coverage is maintained.
  • Performed employees' line-of-duty job functions as needed during high-volume and emergencies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Manager.
  • Knowledge of the food and beverage industry, current market trends, and federal, state, and local laws.
  • Health and Sanitation regulation knowledge.
  • Ability to access, understand, and accurately input information using a moderately complex
    computer system.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff.
  • Require high levels of patience, tact, empathy, and diplomacy to diffuse anger and collect accurate information.
  • Ability to move throughout the hotel property and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.


Other Expectations: Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time,
is essential to the successful performance of this position.



  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying hours.
  • Schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. This includes nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards
    available).
  • Employee is always required to take on the responsibility and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Protective Equipment (PPB) as determined by position and duties.
  • Complies with health and safety rules, regulations, and procedures to maintain a safe environment.


Working Conditions: Physical Demands: Ability to grasp, lift, and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a
maximum of150 lbs.



  • Environmental Conditions:
  • Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • A job is considered "inside" if the worker spends approximately 75 percent or more of the time inside.


Qualifications: Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

The salary range is $60,000-$62,000.
