Position Title: Shipping and Receiving
Wage: $20-$23/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7am-4pm QPS Employment Group is hiring for a Shipping and Receiving role for a company in Cudahy, WI. This is an associate to hire opportunity. Shipping and Receiving Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Prepare domestic and international shipments according to customer and carrier specifications - Assemble, verify, pack, and crate orders; attach or stencil shipping instructions - Receive all incoming materials including raw steel, processed kits, equipment, and returned goods - Verify received materials against purchase orders and receiving documentation - Inspect materials for quantity, type, size, part numbers, and specifications - Route materials to proper storage or manufacturing locations - Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation and reports - Assist with loading and unloading trucks - Ensure forklifts are parked indoors at the end of each shift - Operate crane lift, transport and position loads requiring skills and care in handling up to capacity of the equipment - Receive and track kits; follow up until kits are complete - Pull kits and deliver materials to assembly teams - Organize parts and monitor stock levels - Perform in-process inspections and testing to ensure parts meet production standards - Detect and report defective materials to the Supervisor - Serve as backup to the Logistics Coordinator - Complete special projects and assist other areas of Operations as needed - Work overtime as required based on business needs - Operate forklift and crane equipment to lift, transport, and position materials safely - Use proper rigging methods when handling loads - Conduct daily equipment inspections - Follow proper call-in procedures - Maintain active verbal and written communication with peers and supervisors - Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude - Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers, customers, and vendors - Encourage safe and effective productivity Shipping and Receiving Requirements: - 1-2 years of shipping and receiving experience preferred - Knowledge of warehouse and shipping processes preferred - Ability to read and interpret safety rules, blueprints, technical drawings, and operating instructions - Strong organizational and problem-solving skills - Ability to multi-task and meet production deadlines - Detail-oriented with commitment to quality and teamwork - Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) sitting, standing, walking, climbing / balancing, stooping / twisting, pushing / pulling, reaching, gripping, and keyboarding - Occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time) kneeling, squatting, pinching, and lifting over 50 pounds (with team lift or mechanical assistance) - Constantly (2/3 or more of the time) neck rotation and extension, visual acuity (near and far vision), and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds - Lifting up to 10-50 pounds constantly, over 50 pounds occasionally (team lift or lifting apparatus required) QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
