Job Summary: |
Instructor position available in the Department of Pharmacology at CU Anschutz. Seeking a motivated researcher to work at the intersection of cell biology, optogenetic and chemical genetic tools, and cell quality control during cell health and disease. Projects include developing molecular tools for cell control and studying how cells maintain functional protein assemblies while preventing aggregation. Key Responsibilities: Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments related to the lab goals. Carry out research independently and in collaboration with lab members. Train and oversee graduate and undergraduate students. Perform experiments in yeast and mammalian cells. Techniques include tissue culture, western blotting, DNA analysis, live cell imaging, and cloning. Analyze data and interpret experimental results. Communicate results of experiments in written publications and oral presentations. |

Qualifications: |
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Ph.D. degree in related field of biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, or biology. Preferred Qualifications:
Prior research experience in related area beyond PhD training Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to communicate well and collaborate with lab members and PI. Ability to compile results into publication-ready formats Ability to work independently driving a research program. Strong critical/analytical thinker
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience developing molecular tools and optogenetics Experience with advanced confocal imaging methods including FRAP Experience with biochemical analysis and cell biology

Anticipated Pay Range: |
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: $70,000 to $77,000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
