RP is seeking a Shipping Clerk to support the National Science Foundation (NSF) under the Logistics and Operational Support Services (LOGISS) contract. In this role, you will support NSF shipping and receiving operations by ensuring deliveries are received, processed, tracked, and distributed accurately and efficiently. You will help maintain inventory accountability through barcode processing and ensure documentation is complete and properly recorded in NSF systems.

This position is based on-site at NSF Headquarters in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Validate the shipment and receipt of incoming products, ensuring items are properly received and documented.
  • Process incoming deliveries through NSF shipping and receiving workflows, including logging and scanning shipments.
  • Apply and track barcode asset tags for incoming accountable property and maintain accurate records in NSF systems.
  • Process and update the status of incoming and outgoing barcode assets using client web-based tracking tools.
  • Collaborate and communicate with shipping team members, customer service representatives, and internal NSF clients to ensure smooth delivery and receipt operations.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships by responding professionally and appropriately to inquiries and service requests.
  • Monitor incoming email requests from internal clients and ensure requests are handled in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide backup support for shipping and receiving operations as needed to ensure uninterrupted coverage.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and organized work area consistent with NSF operational standards.
  • Support cross-training and assist with other contract functions as required, including helping train and support team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional education preferred).
  • Experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, warehouse operations, or mailroom support.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including customer service experience.
  • Ability to manage a variety of customer needs and provide solutions appropriately.
  • Active listening skills and ability to remain patient and calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work for any U.S. employer without requiring sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with asset tracking systems (e.g., Archibus or similar tools).
  • Experience processing accountable property and applying barcode tags.
  • Experience supporting federal agencies or large enterprise facilities.
  • Familiarity with loading dock operations and shipping/receiving logs
