Job Summary
The Manager of New Business leads a team of employees in pursuit of revenue growth through increased throughput from existing customers, attaching profitable new customers to the Company's Gas and Electric distribution systems, and increasing product sales. In addition, the Manager New Business has accountability for increasing Renewable Program participation.
Essential Functions
Leads the development of state specific strategic growth plans complete with feasibility studies and payback analyses for competitive gas supplies and other alternative energy sources. Uses industry knowledge and company experience to understand customers' gas and electric products, processes, markets, and economics for all customer segments; residential, commercial, and industrial. Leads New Business activities related to existing and new customer acquisition process that delivers an extraordinary customer experience. Negotiates contracts with both existing and new customers that add financial value to the Company, our customers, and stockholders. Responsible for the authorization of associated capital investments. Evaluates growth projects with an understanding of cash flow, return on investment, and tariff requirements. Attains highest profitability on all growth capital investments. Coordinates and manages growth capital requirements through collaboration with planning, engineering, and scheduling departments. Provides testimony and data requests responses to support regulatory initiatives such as rate cases and tariff changes. Ensures that all work products are technically complaint with Company standards; performs audit and after-action reviews. Develops and leads a team of leaders and frontline employees educated in gas and electric industry related knowledge and can provide technical advice to customers. Ability to provide technical expertise on gas and electric installations on both sides of the meter: our installation process in front of the meter as well as what the customer requirements are behind the meter. Drives a team focused on execution and achievement of annual financial goals. Completes other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications For Position
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in new business development and utility operations. Experience leading others. Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 Experience negotiating agreements. Ability to manage priorities in a challenging environment. Goal and results oriented; motivate team to exceed expectations. Strong analytical, and technical skills required to communicate detailed engineering designs and principals. Financial acumen; understanding of cash flow analysis and other financial principals.
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
Advanced proficiency in NiSource's work management systems and customer relationship management solutions. Prior experience with utility operations and understanding of regulatory policy. New Business operations experience, including but not limited to the understanding of call drivers, performance metrics, and statistical analysis. Experience managing large new business projects.

Salary Range*: $113,500.00 - $170,300.00
*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity. Posting Start Date: 2026-02-13
