Summary:

The Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician (FSQA) with conducts activities concerned with the quality assurance of the production processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions:

  • Conducts standardized tests on products and materials to ensure compliance with internal standards, customerspecificationsand international,federaland state regulations.

  • Documentsdata obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with HACCP standards and company policies and procedures.

  • Records test data such as weights, temperatures, moisture content,qualitiesand quantities inspected or graded.

  • Applies proper acceptance/rejection criteria and marks items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status.

  • Audits production facility and reviews employee behavior for proper sanitation.

  • Communicates significant issues or developmentsidentifiedduring quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to Production/QA Management.

  • Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities to production.

  • Identifieswork related problems and recommends effective solutions as appropriate

  • Maintains a working knowledge of company, government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.

  • Acquiresknowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activitiesin accordance withtraining and procedures/work instructions.

  • Notifiesdesignated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented,in accordance withEnvironmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.

  • All other duties as assigned.

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $19.35 to $22.96 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

MinimumQualifications:

  • A minimum of1 year experience in food processing.

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in food processing.

  • 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance in a food processing facility.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employeemoves objects

  • frequently up to 25 pounds

  • occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
