Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Manager to support the Global Trade law and policy organization within Microsoft Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA). The Business Manager will bring a combination of finance, business acumen, and influencing skills to manage key projects, drive financial results in close alignment with our business partners, and support the team with daily or project needs. The ideal candidate will have an ability to work independently, balance competing workloads/priorities, and a proven track record of project/finance management.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support for the rhythm of business and finance processes of Global Trade CELA
  • Work in alignment with priorities established for Global Trade CELA
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partner teams across multiple organizations (e.g., business support professionals, Finance, Human Resources)
  • Coordinate and manage key client projects including internal and external presentations
  • Manage budgets, including monitoring and reporting to key stakeholders
  • Work in close partnership with Deput General Counsels and business management team
  • Use and maintain company tools, resources, databases, and processes to efficiently achieve work objectives, including AI tools
  • Recommend, develop, and implement efficiencies


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 3+ years experience in project management, internal communications, and/or accounting/finance
  • OR equivalent experience

Other Requirements:

  • This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations, the EU Dual Use Classified as Microsoft Confidential Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide either proof of their country of citizenship or proof of their U.S. permanent residency or other protected status (e.g., under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) for assessment of eligibility to access the export controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate's citizenship will be verified with a valid passport. Lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees may verify status using other documents, where applicable.
  • This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law.   • Ability to manage multiple, competing projects/priorities under tight deadlines, quickly prioritize for impact and deliver results
  • Attention to detail with competent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with ability to have a wider or complete perspective
  • Proven ability to partner, build trust, communicate with and influence key stakeholders to a common goal
  • Proficient financial and analytical skills and the ability to think strategically
  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous and fast paced environments
  • Demonstrated skills in using products such as Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint or other similar tools such as Tableau to build decks, present information and for reporting in management business reviews and in correspondence to leadership.


Business Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year.
