Kubernetes Platform Engineer, Senior The Opportunity: Everyone is trying to "harness the cloud," but not everyone knows how. As a Kubernetes Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining distributed and managed platform services, including automating the installation, configuration, and ongoing support of system components. You will tune systems for performance, reliability, and efficiency, plan and manage software releases and feature deployments, and support users through platform consolidation and optimization efforts. The role includes occasional administration of server hardware and software, enforcement of security best practices and procedures, and troubleshooting and resolution of system issues. You are expected to stay current with operating systems, software analysis techniques, and emerging technologies, and to proactively research and recommend future technical directions or projects to leadership. This position also provides technical expertise and guidance in the development or modification of software programs and applications to improve overall platform and operating system performance. You'll closely collaborate with fellow cloud architects and engineers specializing in hybrid cloud and edge-based platforms to develop, test, and deploy secure containerized solutions. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
