Lead the long range planning for the business, application, data and technical architecture for the solutions in a specific domain. Ensuring all solutions within that domain work logically and coherently together. Essential Functions
- Applies enterprise principles, standards and practices serving as the conduit for influencing Enterprise Architecture direction while optimizing solutions.
- Responsible for decisions/priorities regarding the overall domain architecture.
- Translate business impacts for the domain into architectural solutions (current and target state).
- Develop architecture solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability and security needs.
- Provide technical guidance to development team. Mentor those in less senior positions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information Systems, business and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Minimum Experience Five (5) years work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirement. - Own the architectural vision, priorities, and decision-making for the assigned domain.
- Apply and champion enterprise principles, standards, and best practices, serving as a conduit to influence Enterprise Architecture direction.
- Provide governance leadership for your domain, ensuring alignment with broader enterprise strategy and architectures.
- Collaborate with Business Domain Architects to understand strategic business objectives and translate them into domaincentric architectural direction.
Current & Target State Architecture
- Understand, identify, and document the current state architecture, including business processes, technology components, integrations, and dependencies.
- Develop and model target state architectures that support longterm strategies, independent of individual initiatives.
- Align domain target state architecture with other Domain Architects, Solution Architects, Application Architects, and Enterprise Architects to ensure cohesion across the organization.
- Maintain and evolve current and target state architectures as projects are executed and enterprise strategies change.
Solution Alignment & Delivery
- Translate business impacts and requirements into optimized architectural designs for both current and future states.
- Ensure that performance, scalability, reliability, and security needs are addressed in all architectural solutions.
- Provide architectural oversight to ensure Solution Architects and delivery teams adhere to domain and enterprise design direction.
- Partner with technical teams to ensure seamless solution execution across overlapping domains.
Technical Strategy & Guidance
- Identify and track technical debt within the domain; design plans and roadmaps to mitigate and reduce it.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams and less senior technical staff.
- Communicate highly complex architectural concepts in a clear, concise manner to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Expertise Technical Competencies
- Proven experience designing asynchronous, distributed, highvolume, lowlatency systems.
- Hands-on experience building JMSbased or similar messagingoriented architectures.
- Knowledge of APIFirst design principles and modern integration patterns.
- Familiarity with modeling tools (e.g., Sparx Enterprise Architect) and architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or UML.
- Experience designing and delivering solutions on cloud-native platforms.
- Broad exposure to multiple programming languages and modern technology stacks.
- Strong expertise in data modeling for both SQL and NoSQL platforms.
- Translate business impacts and requirements into optimized architectural designs for both current and future states.
- Ensure that performance, scalability, reliability, and security needs are addressed in all architectural solutions.
