Operations Department

Vantage operates mission-critical data centers for the world's largest technology firms. The MCO department is responsible for setting and maintaining high operating standards across the fleet, and ensuring uptime, reliability, security, and customer service. MCO includes Site Operations, responsible for the day-to-day running of the facilities and supporting infrastructure. The sites are staffed 24 x 7 with Critical Facilities Engineers (CFEs) on each shift. Engineering Operations is responsible for the setting maintenance standards, ensuring consistency and quality of site operations across the fleet, and provides subject matter expertise in the areas of electrical, mechanical, controls & automation, influencing across design, procurement, construction and commissioning. Physical Security ensures Vantage facilities are safeguarded and well monitored, and is responsible for access control, CCTV, security staffing, security design, and engineering. Business Operations underpins the MCO organization with responsibility for coordination of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem, and Asset management), oversight of Operations Management Center (OMC), development and governance of operational systems and toolsets, lease and property administration, and vendor management.

Position Overview

This role can be based onsite in AZ, CO, VA, WI, or TX.

The Vice President, Business Operations leads Vantage's North America business operations function, translating strategy into consistent, measurable and compliant execution across our fleet of operational data centers. Collaborating with colleagues across APAC and EMEA to develop the operating system, including cadences, standards, dashboards, and programs, that align operations, prioritize customer focus, uphold safety and reliability, and maintain budgetary discipline. The VP partners with executive leadership to align operational capabilities with Vantage's rapid growth and evolving business needs. This role is highly cross-functional, serving as the primary interface between Operations, IT, Engineering, and global governance, and is tasked with building a high-performing team culture focused on operational discipline and pragmatic ITIL adoption.

Essential Job Functions

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute North America business operations strategy to support growth and scalability.
  • Align operational priorities with corporate objectives and expansion plans.

Operational Governance

  • Coordinate and govern ITIL processes for Operations; includes Incident, Change, Problem, Asset, and related processes.
  • Oversee performance of the Operations Management Center, ensuring effective monitoring, incident response, operational execution, and business continuity.
  • Mature capability in lease administration, utility invoicing, and vendor management.
  • Oversee and coordinate all stages of the document management framework within the MCO umbrella.

Data & Insights

  • Drive actionable business intelligence and KPI reporting for operational performance.
  • Implement tools for predictive analytics and continuous improvement.

Program Management

  • Lead enterprise-wide initiatives for service support platforms and process automation.
  • Manage cross-functional projects to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.

Customer Experience

  • Ensure seamless service delivery and transparent reporting to customers.
  • Partner with Site Operations and Customer Experience teams to resolve escalations quickly.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • 15+ years in operations leadership, including 5+ years at VP or equivalent level.
  • Expertise invendor management,lease and property administration, andbusiness process optimization.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
  • Proven ability to lead global teams and manage complex, multi-site operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience in data center or technology infrastructure operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of ITIL (v3 or v4) with practical, real-world implementation experience and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CMMS, CMDB, ERP, and BI tools.

Work Environment

  • Occasional travel to Vantage campuses globally.
  • Hybrid work environment with on-site engagement during critical operational periods.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $260,000-$280,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.
