GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Marketing Copywriter is responsible for writing, developing, proofreading, and editing all marketing copy and design and ensuring it is consistent, relevant, and brand-aligned. Also utilizes a strong understanding of marketing principles to analyze marketing strategies, stay current on industry marketing trends, and develop engaging copy to reach target audiences. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Writes relevant, engaging, brand-aligned marketing copy to reach target audiences for all materials produced for Great Southern Bank, including but not limited to, digital and print advertisements, brochures, external website, OOH, paid social media placements, internal and external digital signage, and customer marketing emails. This duty is performed about 30% of the time.
- Responsible for the proofreading and editing of all copy and designs, ensuring that work is accurate, consistent and without errors. Collaborates internally and holistically reviews individual projects across related works to ensure consistency. This duty is performed about 30% of the time.
- Analyzes all marketing strategies and briefs and utilizes a solid understanding of marketing principles to develop copy for marketing materials as mentioned above. This duty is performed about 30% of the time.
- Stays current on industry marketing trends. This duty is performed about 10% of the time.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Reads, writes, and communicates in a clear and efficient manner via various types of correspondence, such as, in person, phone, email, letters, etc. Adheres to all company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable banking rules, regulations, and laws (including BSA/AML).
- Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or related field or four years equivalent relevant work experience
- Minimum of 3 years related experience is required
- Excellent writing, proofreading and editing capabilities with extensive knowledge of AP Style and comfort adapting to brand style exceptions
- Ability to adopt different writing tones and adapt to different platforms (print, OOH, digital, etc)
- SEO familiarity preferred
- Regular use of desktop/laptop computer, basic operating systems, and specialized software systems.
- Intermediate experience with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word Processing; basic experience with accounting and alphanumeric data entry
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
