From your PASSION to ours:Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring an Assistant Manager/Ricotta Packaging based in Buffalo, New York. 1st with flexibility needed to work off shift and weekends as needed.
Summary: Ensures the department is running in a safe, productive manner. Focuses on production, quality and people. Identifies, investigates and works to solve problems that arise. Works closely with department employees and reports any issues to the Ricotta Manager and/or Associate Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1.\tAnalyzes and evaluates information concerning daily operations and how these results positive or negatively affect department performance.2.\tMonitors floor activities in department. 3.\tMonitors punches and ensure there is sufficient personnel including any temporary hours. 4.\tComplete all records and charts as required. 5.\tPerforms administrative managerial duties in an accurate, timely and professional manner. (Phone calls, voice mail, paperwork, meeting presentations.)6.\tMeets regularly with shift supervisors and sanitation 7.\tSupervisor to stay informed about all issues arising in the department.8.\tWorks with all departments to ensure proper adherence to GMP, GSP and QC policies and procedures 9.\tActively work on production floor to facilitate the exchange of data between various departments. 10.\tOperates with other management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures and goals. 11.\tSuggest and debate alternative methods and procedures in solving issues that arise. 12.\tIdentifies strengths and/or weaknesses of the employees and demonstrate the ability to train and coach to strengthen weaknesses and utilize strengths. 13.\tCollects and provides any data necessary for budget creation and implementation.14.\tParticipates in operating budget, goals, and objectives of the department and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectations.15.\tDepartment employee meetings conducted on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.16.\tResponsible for hiring and scheduling required within the department, including temporary staff if necessary.17.\tMaintains open communication with all employees including department managers.18.\tImplement special projects and procedures as directed.19.\tMaintains departmental sanitation and safety operations. Enforces all GMP's, Quality, OSHA, and AIB specifications. 20.\tMaintains employee files including payroll, attendance record, vacation, tardiness, disciplinary review, and annual performance reviews.21.\tFind cost savings within the department's daily parameters.22.\tWorks close with maintenance on a variety of issues related to equipment, department maintenance and preventative maintenance programs.23.\tAware of and practice Plant's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as well as Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).

Requirements

Qualifications:

*\t2-3 years of experience in packaging/manufacturing setting preferred.

*\tPrevious food manufacturing experience preferred.

*\tAbility to perform a multitude of tasks.

*\tKnowledge of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.

Education and/or Experience:

*\tHigh School Diploma/GED required.

*\tAssociate's degree in business administration or dairy science preferred.
