*Platform Integration Software Engineer* *Location:* Redmond, WA (Onsite 3 days/week preferred; remote acceptable)
*Project Length:* 5month project with potential extension (expected max ~8 months) *Start Date:* March 8, 2026 *Overview* The large enterprise organization is scaling new datacenter technologies (HDU/CDU) and rapidly enhancing its signal detection systems to ensure accurate telemetry, reliable operations, and predictive maintenance insights. This role supports two parallel workstreams-*Retrofit HRU* and *NewBuild CDU*-each staffed with developers, a PM, and a Data Scientist. You will partner closely with a Platform Integration Engineer and work within the Signals Quality team, which builds the event-driven backbone that ingests telemetry and operationalizes detection results. *Role Summary* You will design, build, and operate *production-grade, eventdriven services* that take detection logic from prototype to fully reliable, observable, supportable systems. This includes implementing Azure-based messaging integrations, ensuring delivery guarantees, building CI/CD pipelines, and enabling robust monitoring-on fast timelines and with minimal cross-team dependencies. *Key Responsibilities* * Build and operate event-driven services that transport and operationalize detection logic. * Develop scalable producers/consumers with replay, checkpointing, backpressure, retries, idempotency, and ordering guarantees. * Implement and manage DLQs, message validation, and throughput reliability. * Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security gates, and environment management. * Instrument services with logs, metrics, and traces; define SLOs and alerts; integrate with dashboards. * Participate in production validation, incident triage, and operational handoffs. * Collaborate with Detection/Analytics engineers to evolve low/nocode detection prototypes into hardened services. *Top Skills* *1. C# Cloud Services Development (8+ years)* (C++ or Rust acceptable) * Build durable components in Azure Functions or containers, managing state, concurrency, and performance. * Implement reliability patterns (retries, idempotency, ordering) and advanced error handling. * Contribute to runbooks and operational documentation. *2. Event-Driven Architecture (5+ years)* (Azure Event Hubs / Kafka, Service Bus) * Build pipelines with checkpointing, replay, and backpressure. * Handle schema versioning and payload evolution. * Integrate outputs into downstream APIs and storage with correct delivery semantics. * Implement and monitor DLQs. *3. Azure DevOps CI/CD & Observability (5+ years)* * Create secure CI/CD pipelines with automated quality gates. * Manage secrets, environment approvals, and release workflows. * Build observability using logs, metrics, and distributed tracing. * Define SLOs and manage alerts and dashboards. *What Great Looks Like* *Excellent Candidates:* * Build resilient, observable, clean services. * Anticipate failure modes and design for scale and durability. * Collaborate tightly with analytics teams to operationalize detections rapidly. *Average Candidates:* * Can deliver features but may overlook reliability, observability, or messaging semantics. * Require support on CI/CD, event semantics, or release discipline. *Enterprise Skills (Keywords)* C#, Azure, Azure DevOps, C++, Rust, Azure Event Hubs, Kafka, Service Bus, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, CI/CD, GitHub, Machine Learning, AI *Business Context* Microsoft's datacenter organization is accelerating deployment of HDU/CDU technologies. As sensor density and complexity increase, the signals detection system must evolve to interpret data accurately and detect patterns that may indicate equipment issues or maintenance needs. This role is critical to delivering that operational reliability at scale.
