Position Overview We are seeking a detailoriented and patientfocused Oral Surgery Scheduler to join a fastpaced oral and maxillofacial surgery practice. This individual will play a critical role in coordinating surgical appointments, verifying insurance benefits, and ensuring a smooth experience for patients from consultation through postoperative followup. The ideal candidate has prior experience in dental or medical scheduling, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of oral surgery procedures and insurance workflows. Key Responsibilities * Schedule oral surgery consultations and surgical procedures efficiently and accurately * Coordinate operating room availability, surgeon schedules, and anesthesia requirements * Verify dental and medical insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations when needed * Educate patients on procedure preparation, preop and postop instructions, and financial expectations * Confirm appointments and follow up on cancellations or reschedules * Collect and review referrals, imaging, and clinical documentation prior to procedures * Maintain accurate patient records within the practice management system * Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and referring offices * Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times Required Qualifications * 1+ year of experience in medical or dental scheduling * Strong knowledge of insurance verification and authorization processes * Excellent phone etiquette and patient communication skills * High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple schedules * Proficiency with EMR / dental practice management systems * Ability to work in a fastpaced clinical environment Preferred Qualifications * Prior experience in oral surgery, dental surgery, or specialty dental practices * Familiarity with dental and medical insurance plans (PPO, HMO, Medicaid, Medicare) * Experience coordinating surgical procedures or anesthesia cases * Bilingual (Spanish preferred but not required) What We Offer * Competitive pay based on experience * Stable schedule with growth opportunities * Supportive clinical team environment * Training and onboarding for specialty procedures * Opportunity to work with a reputable oral surgery practice Schedule: Fully onsite, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm CST Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, MO. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
