Our client is looking for a Realtime Graphics Developer to join their team!
This is a 12-month long,full-time, remote assignment (initial term with option to extend) that requires candidates local to Culver City, Cupertino, or New York City. Candidates based in NYC must be comfortable working PST hours. Responsibilities:
Architect and implement high-performance, real-time visual effects and rendering systems using Metal and modern GPU pipelines, delivering visually striking experiences across applications and frameworks.
Translate creative direction, look-development references, and design concepts into optimized, reusable shader systems and rendering solutions.
Design and prototype experimental visual effects, balancing artistic exploration with production-level engineering rigor.
Build scalable tools, pipelines, and shader frameworks that empower cross-functional collaborators-including designers and creative technologists-to extend and iterate on visual systems.
Optimize rendering performance through advanced debugging, concurrency strategies, and low-level GPU/CPU tuning to meet demanding runtime constraints.
Partner closely with designers, producers, creative directors, and engineers to shape the visual language of real-time experiences while maintaining technical excellence.
Contribute to cross-disciplinary content pipelines, ensuring graphics systems integrate seamlessly within larger platform and application ecosystems.
Requirements:
10+ years of experience developing real-time graphics systems, with deep expertise in modern rendering pipelines and shader development.
Strong proficiency in Metal Shading Language (MSL) or equivalent shader languages (GLSL, HLSL, Vulkan), with hands-on experience in ray tracing, ray marching, volumetric rendering, and advanced lighting models.
Advanced programming skills in Objective-C or C++ (Swift a plus), with demonstrated experience optimizing performance in GPU-intensive environments.
Proven ability to bridge creative and technical domains, translating artistic vision into performant, production-ready systems; familiarity with tools such as TouchDesigner, Houdini, Reality Composer, or similar platforms is highly valued.
