ABOUT THE JOB:

The Product Designer is responsible for all design engineering and related duties for current products and enhancements, as well as new products. This is a highly technical role that will contribute to the entire design and production process of these products.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • End-to-end program design Aaa work with internal/external engineering resources to organize and drive PDP deliverables across engineering, design, manufacturing, and safety.
  • Product definition - work with product management to translate customer and internal requirements into products that meet them.
  • Design cycle Aaa follow an iterative process of designing a product to spec, prototyping and testing samples, and making adjustments based on customer and internal feedback.
  • Modeling/Drafting/Documentation Aaa Create detailed 3D/2D Part and Assembly specifications. Maintain appropriate documentation of design and program activities. Create detailed Bill of Material, tooling, fixturing and measurement documentation.
  • Postproduction - assist with quality control and product standardization efforts. Confirm end of line testing procedures and develop plan to track product warranty and usable life.
  • Budgeting - work with program management to hit component and product level costs, as well as tooling, equipment, and other PPE.
  • Testing - develop product test plans in conjunction with various functions to ensure product is safe, repeatable, and meets use cases / applications.
  • Prototyping/Installs Aaa work with product management to design, source components, deploy prototypes on site, and monitor/evaluate as necessary.
  • Intellectual Property Aaa assist Prod Management and Legal team to draft and pursue and intellectual property opportunities.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree in engineering or related discipline; 10+ yearsa experience
