This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will support production of the Engines as a Process Engineer at our Kent Manufacturing Site. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of production and manufacturing, so relevant experience in those areas is highly desired. We are seeking a proactive, service-oriented individual with excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and analytics skills who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be primarily responsible for leadingthe projects focused on manufacturing automationin production for both internal and external customers. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead Manufacturing Automation initiatives across kent site.

  • Manage hardware status, supporting both internal and external demand.

  • Engineerwilldevelop and execute aggressive timeline schedulesfor process developmentand refinement.

  • Candidate must be self-motivated and work well unsupervised, as well as be able to work in team environments.

  • Provide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing, and test for the Manufacturing team.

  • Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness.

  • Manage budgets and implementation of capital equipment and facility projects!

  • Lead planning and execution-centered process improvements to reduce cost, shorten cycle time, improve quality, and enhance safety through risk management.

  • Collaborate with purchasing and supplier management to ensure on-time delivery of hardware and production equipment.

  • Reduce and close risks and identify opportunities.

  • Track key program metrics (and associated reporting tools) in areas such as: budget, engineering schedules, equipment schedules, procurement schedules, production schedules, program management status reports, and resource plans.

  • Lead key business analytics initiatives, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. in engineering with 5+ years of relevant Quality or Engineering experience.

  • 5+ years' experience leading Automation projects.

  • Strong verbal and technical writing skills are a must. Written communication skills required forwritingwork instructionsfor the operatorsas well as preparation of qualification reports and other documentation.

  • Quality experience in production environment. Aerospace, space launch, or military or commercial aviation preferred.

  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs.

  • 5 or more years' experience in Manufacturing in a Production Environment.

  • Ability to develop and execute a moderately complicated project plan in all phases.

  • Established negotiating skills and ability to garner acceptance in a project matrix hierarchy.

  • Understands and can apply various related project/efficiency models such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kanban, Waterfall, and Agile.

  • Six Sigma Green Certificate or deep understanding of lean methodologies.

  • Strong capability and understanding with proven success of RCCA tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. Engineering

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.

  • Experience with Primavera (P6), Jira, Tableau

  • Experience mining data SQL, Redshift, Redash.

  • Quality assurance experience in rocket engine production environment.

  • Shown experience in transitioning a product from development, through production to operations.

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $112,059.00 - $156,882.60

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
