As a Security Officer - Apartment Patrol PT in Suffolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech, media, and/or telecom location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine foot patrols, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor interactions, document observations, and communicate clearly with site teams. Bring a people-first mindset as you deliver reliable service through teamwork, integrity, and innovative thinking.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and personnel at a tech and/or media campus by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Control access at entrances and key areas by verifying credentials, managing visitor check-in and/or badge processes, and directing deliveries and service providers according to site requirements.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems; identify irregular activity and report concerns to site contacts and/or responding authorities as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, document observations in written reports, and support follow-up actions per post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control/badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
