Job Description




As a Security Officer - Turnstile Monitor in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced tech location, you will help monitor entry points, manage badge access, and respond to alarms and/or access issues as they arise. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support teams and visitors with clear communication and customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients at a tech-focused location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access to the facility by verifying identification, managing visitor registration and/or badging, and directing authorized personnel to the appropriate areas.
  • Monitor entry and exit points and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and/or hazards to the appropriate contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and notifying Allied Universal supervision as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and parking areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or damage.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
