Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Site Patrol in New Haven, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a dynamic tech and media location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver top-tier customer service. You will conduct routine rounds, observe access points, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and document concerns. Bring an agile, reliable mindset, act with integrity, and partner with your team to support smooth day-to-day operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow, assist with check-in processes as directed by site policy, and report unauthorized access or suspicious behavior.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarm activations, disturbances, and requests for assistance from site personnel.
  • Complete detailed reports on daily activities, patrol observations, and incident response, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
