Hiring Range:

$127,587.20 - $160,763.20

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) - Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (Part-Time)
Worcester, Massachusetts

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Child & Adolescent Psychiatry team. This position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary academic health system dedicated to providing high-quality behavioral health care to children and families across Central Massachusetts.

Position Overview

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, in consultation with the designated supervising psychiatrist, is primarily responsible for providing psychiatric evaluation, brief treatment, and medication management to patients ranging from children and adolescents to young adulthood across the designated service population.

The need for psychiatric services may be generated by a primary mental health condition or secondary to co-existing medical conditions. The PMHNP will work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management
  • Provide brief therapeutic interventions as appropriate
  • Collaborate with supervising psychiatrist and multidisciplinary team
  • Document assessments and treatment plans in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives as applicable

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Licensure:

  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification required

Required:

  • Three years of advanced clinical practice experience in child and adolescent psychiatric settings

Preferred/recommended:

  • Advanced clinical practice experience in child and adolescent psychiatric outpatient settings conducting diagnostic evaluations and providing psychiatric medication management
  • Experience working with pediatric and adult patients with neurodevelopmental disabilities
  • Experience working in integrated Primary Care - Behavioral Health settings
