About the job:

The Education liaison will serve as the liaison between the UMD Department of Education and Piedmont Elementary School as part of its partnership agreement.
This is an hourly casual position, 14 hours per week for 10 weeks (5 total pay periods) $28.57/hour.

Job Duties:
* Facilitating focus groups with Piedmont teachers (in grade-level groups) to identify targeted goals for reciprocal partnership with UMD
* Continuing conversations with Building Principal to identify aligned student needs, teacher needs, and school-based goals that could be supported through working with UMD teacher candidates and faculty
* Soliciting feedback and recommendations from cooperating teachers about UMD teacher candidates clinical experiences with Piedmont ES
* Facilitating conversations school-wide to gather information and co-develop a plan for how school and community strengths and funds of knowledge could help UMD teacher candidates (and faculty) learn more about building relationships
* Assisting UMD faculty and school personnel in sharing and discussing data (from Piedmont ES and UMD teacher education programs) that could be used to inform both formation of new goals and progress toward the goals

Qualifications

Required quals:
BA/BS degree plus at least two years of related experience, or a combination of education and related work experience to equal at least six years.

The Department of Education is one of five departments in the College of Education and Human Service Professions and is the home of the Ruth Meyers Center for Indigenous Education. The Department offers 15 undergraduate teaching licensure programs. Licensure offerings include Integrated Elementary and Special Education; Secondary licensure options (Communication Arts and Literature, Earth and Space Science, Health, Life Science, Mathematics, Physical Science, Social Studies); K-12 Educations (Art, Music, Physical Education, World Languages). Minors include: Early Childhood; Deaf Studies; Special Education. Graduate offerings include a Master of Education degree. Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $28.57/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
