International Payroll Analyst

The overall purpose of this position is to ensure the complete and accurate processing of biweekly U.S. domestic payroll as well as monthly international payrolls (India, Japan, Singapore, Austria, Germany, and China), while continuously analyzing payroll policies and procedures for compliance and improvement.

This role is primarily responsible for end-to-end payroll processing with minimal supervision. The position serves as second lead on all payroll audits (internal and external) and third lead on payroll-related system upgrades and enhancements. The role reports to the Senior Payroll Manager with limited supervision and serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on ADP Workforce Now and ADP Streamline Global payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process domestic payroll with minimal supervision, ensuring extreme confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with payroll policies and government regulations.

  • Ensure all payments, tax withholdings, and deductions are processed accurately.

  • Process salary payments including retroactive pay, bonuses, commissions, severance, vacation payouts, employee referrals, and shift differentials.

  • Adhere to state regulations when processing wage garnishments.

  • Assist with and back up international payroll processing, engaging with global payroll vendors to ensure compliance with country-specific regulations.

  • Serve as subject matter expert and backup for payroll systems, including electronic time and attendance systems and retirement plan contribution processing (including excess contribution calculations).

  • Reconcile and adjust quarterly retirement plan reports.

  • Process biweekly benefit deductions and retirement plan contribution wires.

  • Process international wire transfers related to payroll and invoicing.

  • Assist in preparing retirement plan projection tables for senior management and highly compensated employees.

  • Reconcile forfeiture and suspense accounts related to retirement plans and provide information to Accounting.

  • Process retirement plan loan reports, including new loans and loan payoffs.

  • Assist with payroll system conversions, implementations, and upgrades, including ADP Workforce Now, timekeeping systems, and global payroll vendor transitions.

  • Serve as liaison with Benefits for all employee leaves of absence, including payroll and accrual calculations and compliance requirements.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

  • Some completed coursework in Accounting preferred

  • 6-10 years of global payroll experience required

  • Experience with both domestic and international payroll required

  • Strong proficiency in Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications required

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and ADP Streamline Global preferred

Certifications

  • APA Payroll Certification (or working toward certification within one year) preferred
