Job Summary


This is a temporary appointment expected to last approximately six months. The role requires on-site work four days per week, with one remote workday. The position is based at 2001 Embarcadero, San Francisco.

TEP employees are eligible for optional medical benefits, holiday pay, and sick leave accrual.

We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented administrative professional to provide high-level support on sensitive and complex matters. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who can step in quickly and add immediate value.

Incumbent will play a critical role in supporting confidential labor relations matters, organizing case materials, coordinating communications, and ensuring operational excellence within a dynamic, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level administrative support to leadership and staff
  • Manage and maintain confidential and highly sensitive information with discretion
  • Coordinate meetings and communications with internal and external stakeholders
  • Track deadlines, maintain case files, and ensure timely follow-up on labor matters
  • Support policy and procedure documentation and related administrative processes
  • Serve as a professional point of contact for internal partners and external representatives

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

Department Description

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.

Required Qualifications


  • Strong administrative experience in a complex environment

  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to learn quickly, prioritize effectively, and work with minimal oversight

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in a university setting, human resources, or labor & employment is highly desirable.
