Job Description




As a Security Officer - Community Site Monitor in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol common areas and building exteriors, complete routine rounds, and remain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will greet residents, tenants, and visitors with strong customer service, document observations using a computer or tablet, and communicate clearly with site contacts. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, residents, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access control processes, and emergency response activities as directed.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and service requests in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to property management and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, retail and office corridors, lobbies, parking areas, loading zones, and building perimeters to help identify unusual activity and/or maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor cameras, fire panels, and/or other building systems when assigned, and communicate observations to property staff and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Complete shift documentation including incident reports, patrol logs, and guest and/or contractor entries, and support security-related policies for deliveries, keys, and lost and found as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
