Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Hospital Patrol in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a higher education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will assist students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting of unusual activity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an academic location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and/or requesting assistance from on-site personnel and local emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or policy concerns for reporting.
  • Monitor access points and observe activity for unusual conditions, complete routine checks of doors, gates, and equipment, and report maintenance or security-related concerns through established channels.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation, and communicate relevant information during post handoff and/or to site leadership as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security experience.
  • Be able to comply with hospital vaccine requirements.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
