Security Officer - Controlled Entry Desk

As a Security Officer - Controlled Entry Desk in Florence, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a high-traffic retail location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, greet shoppers and staff, and respond to security-related concerns with calm, clear communication. You will stay visible, complete routine patrols, document activity, and support a welcoming customer experience. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and retail staff by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points at the retail location, verify credentials as required, manage visitor logs, and direct deliveries and vendors to designated receiving areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and promptly notifying site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, corridors, stairwells, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
• Complete required documentation such as daily activity reports, incident reports, and access control records, and communicate pertinent updates during shift handoff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 2+ years law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
• Have 2+ years security experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Have CPR certification, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
