Location: Junction City, Kansas

Type: Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift

Compensation: $56,784 - $56,784 per year

CRITICAL DUTIES:

  • Support the division manager, provide training and development for the group personnel, and support the overall success of the division.

  • Responsible for all activity results as they relate to the data gathering and report planning, with the ability to manage safety and ISO at this location, including assignments and evaluations of resources and communication within the divisions.

  • Responsible for the division's data and reporting reviews, and will work closely with the operational managers on-site.

  • Work with managers to formulate and implement policies and procedures to facilitate, clarify, and correct processes.

  • Evaluate the feasibility of new or revised safety or ISO systems and procedures.

  • Responsible for achieving and producing periodic review data.

  • Monitor operational performance using safety and ISO processes.

  • Analyze results and recommend to managers the measured performance results, objectives, and efficiency of the systems.

  • Manage the reporting and process changes in these systems.

  • Activities would include cross-functional teams throughout the development and certification process, in order to meet the needs of the corporation.

  • Work across multiple contracts, and successfully report and support on new safety and ISO system changes.

  • Interface with and proactively collaborate with regulatory, development, and operational functions to meet Tessera deliverables and achieve timely approvals; participates in cross-functional teams as required to meet relevant requirements, collaborates and reviews system reporting and internal processes.

  • Responsible for developing and executing the long-term operations reporting procedures, as well as the short-term tactical operational reporting procedures and activities of the company with a goal to maximize ease and speed of deployment, reduce costs, and provide outstanding internal and external customer support.

  • Work on selecting reporting content, technology, and infrastructure vendors to best meet the company's cost and quality goals for the position.

  • Customer Support: Develop strategies for customer support. Manage: support; development of service documentation; ongoing safety and ISO customer support and management; creation of knowledge database; continual improvement; customer satisfaction surveys; and contributes stories to the newsletters.

  • Conduct inspections of the work environment to ensure safety requirements are met.

  • Assure work environment is in compliance with regulatory codes per OSHA, Reg. 200-1, EM 385, NFPA, EPA, and DOT.

  • Ability to generate detailed reports on all findings of non-compliance and program reports.

  • Assist upon need, in other areas of the Loss Prevention department, such as Workers' Compensation and Risk Management.

  • Work closely with the Safety Trainers and committees and assist in safety training programs.

  • Required to travel to off-site locations for job duties, as well as locations of interest to the company.

  • Tessera is a service based service and environmental consulting firm. Duties include environmental and safety compliance and remediation throughout the region. The position is responsible for the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures for safety and compliance.

  • Must ensure compliance with services, especially regarding Government types of facilities.

  • Provide training on various safety programs, i.e., Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and other assigned duties.

  • Act as the company representative for safety and compliance issues for OSHA and all safety inspections.

  • Well organized, possess advanced writing and communication skills, and be able to work within a group environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a program with overall responsibility for safety and health matters in support of Tessera's SBUs.

  • Develop and implement safety and health programs in support of safety goals, initiatives, accident prevention, and management.

  • Provide leadership in developing and implementing the needed safety, health, and quality strategies, programs, and education.

  • Work closely with the managers, office safety coordinators, and Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and quality groups.

  • Lead and coordinate offices to establish programs to address accident trends and regulatory requirements and to reduce illness and injury occurrences, severity, and costs.

  • Establish a network of contacts to facilitate communication, share best practices, coordinate program development, and solve problems across all offices.

  • Participate in the investigation of all injuries and cooperate in the preparation of material evidence for company use in hearings, lawsuits, federal and state safety-related audits, and investigations.

  • Train and educate all offices in the use of ISO and OSHA guidelines to identify and analyze safety process improvements.

  • Track successful utilization and address gaps and needs in ISO tools.

  • Travel as required to offices nationwide and headquarters offices.

  • Team with other managers to coordinate program and training activities and share best practices across all regions.

  • Actively provide education and training to all offices and lead processes in regulatory requirements and leadership actions to drive safety.

  • Assist safety and health coordinators at each location.

  • Must manage safety and must have:

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and ANSI standards.

  • Ability to partner with production areas and influence safety strategies.

  • Proven project management skills and knowledge of the Tessera Safety System

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Train, manage, and evaluate system performance.

  • Establish departmental quality customer service levels between Fort Riley SBUs.

  • Coordinate all functions listed above and ensure the highest level of quality and customer service is provided to our internal and external customers.

  • Identify procedures that require updating, implement recommended changes, and make necessary changes as required.

  • Ensure that all departments/employees impacted by changes are informed/involved as needed to ensure successful implementation.

  • Coordinate and track departmental responsibilities and requests on areas of concern that need to be addressed and/or communicated.

  • Analyze all requests from customers to enable proper management, investigation, and communication of issues.

  • Partner with managers and customers to facilitate change and the communication of procedures, policies, or issues that will or could impact the department.

  • Lead, as necessary, staff meetings, trainings, and other meetings.

  • Help perform reviews of team members, proposals, and mentor others in development techniques.

  • Respond to/troubleshoot internal and external customer questions, issues, and requests.

  • Assist operations managers and proposals managers in developing strategies for development.

  • Performs quality reviews and audits of proposals and the proposal process throughout the department to verify quality and safety controls.

  • Work with functional departments on a continuous basis, help train new team members, and perform ongoing training of all business operations team members. May develop and compile text and budgets for the department.

  • Participate as a team member in the departmental process of new projects and facilitate communication within business operations to keep everyone informed.

  • Participate in the design and development of the new departmental operational tools.

  • Responsible for the review of procedures prior to delivery to customers.

  • Assists the Management and Proposal Development teams on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of quality or safety experience required.

  • Must have training certificates, licenses, and certifications as needed.

  • Must be able to be mobile and work in diverse, high-pressure, and fast-paced environments.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
