Security Officer - Armed Perimeter Patrol

As a Security Officer - Armed Perimeter Patrol in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication and customer service. This post requires an armed guard card and/or license and offers a chance to live Allied Universal values by being agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and team-focused while always acting with integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to customers, employees, and/or visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a retail setting.
• Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to site leadership and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the store, common areas, loading and receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter theft, trespassing, and/or other unwanted activity.
• Monitor and operate security-related systems and equipment such as CCTV, access control points, and alarm panels, documenting observations and reporting hazards or maintenance concerns per site procedures.
• Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift documentation, and assist with customer disputes, lost and found issues, and/or crowd management while maintaining professional presence and compliance with applicable firearms policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
