Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Overnight Patrol in New Orleans, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for service, document observations, and provide professional customer service and clear communication to tenants, visitors, and staff. An armed guard card/license is required. Our team is agile, reliable, innovative, and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and property staff by following site-specific procedures, access control requirements, and security-related protocols, and/or assisting with emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of common areas, lobbies, stairwells, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and coordinating with property management and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Monitor and report unusual conditions such as unsecured doors, trespassing, loitering, property damage, and/or hazardous conditions, and submit clear written reports and incident documentation.
  • Carry and handle authorized duty equipment in accordance with Allied Universal and site policies, comply with all licensing requirements, and maintain professional communication and appearance while on post.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
