Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol in Albany, GA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a food and beverage production location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and help maintain a secure environment through a visible presence and timely response. You will support access points, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with team members and site personnel. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a food and beverage production and warehouse environment.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of production areas, loading docks, parking lots, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials for employees, contractors, and deliveries; assist with controlling vehicle and pedestrian traffic at gates, entrances, and/or shipping and receiving areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation when appropriate, notifying site leadership and/or public emergency services, and providing support until relieved.
  • Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports, communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts, and operate surveillance and communication equipment as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred.
  • This is a primarily driving post.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
