Position Summary
THIS IS A TIME-LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF 2 YEARS.

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for a Research Technician Position. The successful candidate will participate in research activities in the Choby Laboratory. The objective of this position is to serve as a Research Technician in the Choby Lab. The lab is focused on understanding the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance and heteroresistance in Gram-negative bacteria. We require personnel to perform microbial culture and molecular biology techniques to perform assays that measure the frequency of populations in a bacterial culture that is resistant to a particular antibiotic, as well as contribute to lab operations that support these experiments. These measurements are used to elucidate mechanisms of antibiotic resistance and phenotypic heterogeneity.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
