| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Lampe Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering stresses the application of science and engineering, mathematical analysis, and computer techniques to biomedical problems. The research and entrepreneurship of the faculty, students, and staff aim to accumulate, generate, and disseminate biomedical engineering knowledge to improve health care for the benefit of the people of North Carolina, the nation, and the world.
Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of North Carolinians and others whom we serve. We accomplish this by providing leadership and excellence in the interrelated areas of patient care, education and research.
Patient care: We promote health and provide superb clinical care while maintaining our strong tradition of reaching underserved populations and reducing health disparities across North Carolina and beyond.

| Position Summary |
A Postdoctoral position is currently open in the Dayton Lab within the Lampe Joint Biomedical Engineering Dept. This research position will lead research in advanced ultrasound imaging technologies. Potential projects include super-resolution imaging, functional neurological imaging, molecular imaging, and super-harmonic imaging. As well as handle the Post award functions to include but not limited to initiating actions such as rebudgeting; equipment acquisition; no cost extensions; assist to create preaward account numbers; prepare online journal vouchers and interdepartmental transfers, prepare budget projections for PIs when requested; approve expenses on the ledger 5 -accounts and complete reconciliations; complete the closeout process for ledger 5 accounts ensure departmental policies and procedures are followed. This position will work with the Associate Chair of Administration on salary release on grants.
The position is responsible for auditing, verifying and approving payments on grant accounts; ensuring accuracy and compliance to University, State, and Federal policies, procedures, and guidelines governing spending and travel reimbursements; and maintaining a high level of audit accuracy. Verify and ensure that documentation requirements have been met and required supporting documentation is present to support the expenses. The position will also assist administrative staff and Associate Chair of Administration as needed in various tasks as needed. |
