This role is responsible for owning business engagement end-to-end-deeply understanding business strategy, roadmap, priorities, and pain points, and translating them into clear, outcome-driven data and analytics demand.

The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, data and analytics fluency, and change management expertise to ensure work delivered across foundational data, data quality, reporting, analytics, and data availability is aligned to enterprise strategy and delivers measurable business value. This role operates as a strategic connector and change lead, enabling scalable, trusted data solutions while driving adoption across the business.

Position Responsibilities

Job SummaryThe Principal Data Strategist: Go-to-Market Business Engagement Partner serves as the primary data and analytics advisor for an assigned business function, building deep relationships and understanding of business strategy, priorities, and KPIs. This role drives end-to-end business engagement, translating complex business needs into scalable, outcome-driven data and analytics solutions. The strategist champions automation and AI-ready approaches, leads delivery of high-impact initiatives, and ensures adoption through effective communication, training, and enablement. The position is pivotal in aligning business priorities with data and analytics roadmaps, improving focus, transparency, and delivery outcomes.Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary data and analytics partner for an assigned business function, developing a deep understanding of business strategy and decision-making needs
  • Own business engagement end-to-end, from intake and clarification through delivery alignment and post-delivery feedback
  • Act as a trusted advisor and change leader, driving adoption of data and analytics solutions through communication, training, and enablement
  • Champion automation and AI-ready approaches to reduce manual effort and enable advanced analytics
  • Represent the business function in data and analytics prioritization and roadmap discussions, balancing near-term needs with long-term investments
  • Translate business challenges into clear, outcome-focused data, reporting, and analytics requirements
  • Lead delivery of data and analytics initiatives, ensuring solutions meet business intent and are adoption-ready
  • Partner with data, analytics, and platform teams to contribute business input into critical data elements, metrics, and definitions
  • Support adoption of data quality standards and reinforce practical governance practices
  • Drive alignment between business priorities and data and analytics roadmaps, improving focus and delivery outcomes

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience operating as a senior business partner in data, analytics, or technology-enabled transformation roles supporting Go-to-Market functions
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive change across business and technical teams at all levels
  • Strong experience shaping and prioritizing demand in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Experience engaging with global and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to translate business needs into actionable data and analytics requirements
  • Track record of leading delivery of cross-functional initiatives from concept through adoption
  • Solid understanding of enterprise data concepts, including data quality, reporting layers, analytics, and governance
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Passion for data-driven decision-making, scalable solutions, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in SaaS technology B2B companies
  • Experience applying automation or AI to improve data stewardship, reporting, or analytics workflows
  • Strong data storytelling and visualization skills
  • Background in process design, data quality, or analytics-driven transformation
  • Experience in SaaS or technology-driven organizations
  • Degree in business, finance, operations, information systems, or a related field

Compensation Info

The U.S. salary range for this position is $86,500.00-$152,500.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
