This position is subject to the successful completion of an employment background check. | Job Description |
We are seeking a tenure-track faculty member to teach introductory through advanced-level Computer Science courses. Candidates should have a Ph.D. or be
ABD in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field with at least 18 credit hours at the graduate level in the above-mentioned disciplines, and possess experience in teaching or industry, research interests, and relevant ongoing or planned publications in the discipline.
Candidates who are
ABD could start at the Instructor rank and salary, and move to Assistant Professor after successful completion of the Ph.D. In such an event, the said candidate would be expected to complete the Ph.D. within one year of the official start date at
UNC Pembroke.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach a broad range of CS and IT courses effectively, advise and mentor students, and engage in scholarship and professional service. Courses may be assigned across all levels of the undergraduate curriculum in areas such as object-oriented programming (Java, C++), event-driven programming, data structures, computer architecture, software engineering, web technologies and security, operating system design and security, networking and security, systems integration, systems assurance, digital logic and design, human-computer interaction, video game development, database management, and cybersecurity.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to design course materials aligned with
CAE-CD and
ABET accreditation standards, participate actively in student learning outcomes assessment, and contribute to student success through engagement with student clubs and co-curricular activities.
Salary and academic rank are commensurate with directly related education and experience.
