2nd Shift



  • Supervise, train, instruct and evaluate associates as team players in manufacturing, safety, maintenance, and quality methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment.
  • Authority to plan and direct production activities and establish production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Coordinates production activities with production control, maintenance, tool room, and quality control to obtain optimum production and utilization of manpower, machine, and equipment.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of non-conformity with product specifications or production problems.
  • Implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
  • Conducts investigations and meetings to resolve employee complaints. Discusses such complaints with management for resolution.
  • Maintains compliance with organizational policies, and safety standards.
  • Forecasts labor requirements and recommends equipment or layout changes.
  • Empowered to demand that others maintain the housekeeping standards in the plant and ensures individuals comply with the quality standards. Has authority to make disposition in quality issues related to production and staffing.
  • Lead and support LTA, Midway Operating Systems and Continuous Improvement programs.
  • Performs other essential functions as assigned.


JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Training and experience: Prefer high school diploma, technical background or the equivalent. Need at least one year experience on the floor, good supervisory skills, and the ability to be cross-trained.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Computer skills, good verbal and written communication skills.

MAJOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

The Area Manager must be able to stand on the concrete floor for the duration of work shift, walk, talk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to the floor and use arms and hands. Will exert up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and 50 pounds of force occasionally. Visual precision is needed for visually inspecting parts for quality at production equipment speed, and for reading documents, machine gauges, and precision measuring instruments.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal factory environment. Employees will be subject to hazards such as loud noise from operating machines, physical hazards from operating or moving equipment, and breathing of fumes and dust.

Area Managers may be hired to work in a specific area, however, all area managers are expected to be able to work in all production areas in order to promote productivity, quality & safety.

High School / GED (required)
Experience
2 - 15 years: Manufacturing Experience (preferred)
