Position Summary: The Data Modeler plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and data solutions, while being exposed to enterprise-level data strategy initiatives. This professional is primarily responsible for collaborating with business stakeholders to gather and understand requirements for data products and translate those into scalable, intuitive data products that enable self-service analytics, ensuring data consistency, and supporting strategic decision-making. The Data Modeler is part of a collaborative, innovative team of Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Analysts and Data Governance experts that value continuous learning and cross-functional partnership. Essential Functions:
- Partner with business units to understand reporting, analytics, and strategic data needs and translate into documented requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support business logic, reporting needs, and analytics.
- Work closely with Data Engineers to develop optimized data pipelines and scalable data warehouse objects that align with modeling specifications and supply the data required for robust semantic models.
- Implement semantic models within Microsoft Fabric, ensuring performance, scalability, and usability, including preparing semantic models for consumption by AI.
- Coordinate with Data Governance Specialist, Data Owners, and Data Stewards to document data products in Microsoft Purview Unified Data Catalog to ensure consistency and clarity for data product consumers.
- Monitor, maintain, and enhance existing models to support evolving business needs.

- Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training. Follow internal processes and controls as required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in a relevant field (Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science).
- Minium of 7 years' experience in data modeling, preferably within Microsoft Fabric/Power BI, SQL Server Analysis Services, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and semantic layer design.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications.
- Familiarity with Power BI, DAX, and SQL.
- Database Management Systems experience required (for example, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2).
- SQL Data Warehouse or Azure SQL Data Warehouse experience preferred.
- Source code management experience preferred.
- Experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
