SUMMARY:

BRPH is currently looking for a Senior Architect for our Hospitality Market Sector at our Orlando, FLorida office. The ideal candidate will perform, design, andassistwith other tasks of architectural projects by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Performsassignmentsutilizingprofessional architectural work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related architectural tasks. Assignments require sound independent judgement and application of a non-routine, complex nature, under the supervision of the Director.


  • Assignmentsmayincludemultiplevariables and be more complex. Applies diversified knowledge of architectural principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Makes decisions independently on architectural problems and methods andrepresentsthe company to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work. Requires advanced techniques and extension of theories,preceptsand practices of architecture. The knowledge andexpertiserequiredfor this level of work usually result from progressive experience.


  • Assignments usually include complex architectural tasks and calculations with limited technical guidance on non-standard issues. Must coordinate with and help resolve conflicts with other disciplines based on an excellent understanding of the design process. Responsible for the preparation of project specific construction specifications and construction administration.


  • Prepares reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, costestimatesand permits forprojects.


  • Hasa very goodunderstanding and knowledge of construction techniques andconstructability.


  • Has agood,working knowledge ofCADDdrafting to produce designs into routine finaldrawings.


  • Understands codes and standards and hasabilityto research code issues, present interpretation, and properly apply in the dailywork.


  • PerformsLife Safety and Code Analysis andprepareLife SafetyPlans.


  • Has an excellentunderstanding and knowledgeof construction techniques andconstructability.


  • Visits construction site to review, monitor, and report progress and perform other construction administration duties, such as shop drawing review, attend construction site meetings, review RFI's, prepare ASI's, PR's, prepare status reports, per the contractdocuments.


  • Assistin supervising,coordinatingand checking the work, as well as instructing, leading and mentoringjunior staff toeliminatedocumentation errors.


  • Perform checking of one's own work and work prepared by drafters,designersand otherarchitects.


  • Provide coordination of all applicable projectdiscipline'sdrawings and specifications.


  • Assistsin preparing design budgets, marketingproposalsand costestimates.


  • Assistin client contact and communicationpertaining tospecificprojects.


  • Promotecommunications,cooperationand quality amongstaff.


  • Must be proficient in the useof:


  • Microsoft Windows, Excel, Project,Newforma,BlueBeamandWord


  • AutoCAD,Revit,Navisworks or BIM 360


  • Knowledge of the latest computer software for architectural renderingsand building energyanalysis.


  • Basic knowledge of sustainable/greenstrategies.


  • Basic knowledge of different contractual deliverymethods.


  • Promotes andrepresentsthe firm in a professionalmanner.


  • Responsible for job specific standards, practices and quality as definedin BRPHQuality Standards andDiscipline Director'sinitiatives.


  • Develops proposals and agreements for assigned projects within the department.


  • Prepares forecast of workload and resources for assigned projects and/ordepartment.


  • Prepares and monitors project budgetsin collaboration with PM.


  • Responsible for meeting project schedules,timelycompletionand quality of assignedprojects.


  • Licensed professional.


  • May serve as a project manager or project architect on assignedprojects.


  • Should be active in professional tradeorganizations.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited four-year college or university


  • Eightyearsof experience in architecture.


  • Must have passed the exam and be certified as a RegisteredArchitect


  • Technically competent to sign and seal constructiondocuments.



CERTIFICATE, LICENCES, REGISTRATIONS:

Possess a Certificate of Licensed Registered Architect.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • The work is semi-sedentary work and requires the ability tolift upto 20 pounds.


  • Manual dexterity, hearing, mental acuity, typing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.


  • Ability to navigate and move around the construction site, which may involve walking,climbingladders, and standing for extended periods on uneven surfaces.


  • Ability tooperatea motor vehicle.


  • Ability to stand and sitfor periodslonger than 30 minutes but not to exceed two hours consecutively.


  • Ability to control behavior whenencounteringstressful situations or short deadlinesand tomaintaina high levelof concentration.


  • Ability to print and draw letters, numbers, words, characters, and symbols that are legible and understood by others.
  • Ability to learn complex tasks and remember how to complete tasks without assistance once trained.
