Maintenance - Mechanic

SUMMARY:

• Performs general mechanical maintenance work in the facility. Inspects, repairs and/or overhauls fixed and portable rotating equipment, process equipment and other as required for effective plant operation. May operate lifting and carrying equipment for the facility. Performs pipefitting and welding duties as assigned by supervision.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains, fabricates, installs, repairs and/or replaces, facility piping, valves, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, mobile equipment and process equipment in accordance with applicable procedures and specifications.
• Utilizes electric, air and hydraulically driven tools and equipment.
• Utilizes welding, brazing, soldering and cutting equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance.
• Completes other routine or assigned duties as necessary to meet the maintenance department work schedule to minimize equipment downtime.
• Cleans up work area following completion of assigned task and properly disposes of waste materials. Returns tools and equipment to normal storage areas.
• Replaces facility relief valves.
• Utilizes cutting equipment.
• Rigs for lifting equipment.
• Utilizes alignment, gauging tools and equipment.
