Stationary Engineer - Union- JLL

What this job involves:

The Stationary Engineer (Union) operates and maintains stationary engines and mechanical equipment, air compressors, generators, motors, turbines, and steam boilers, to provide utilities, such as light, heat, or power, for buildings and industrial processes: Reads meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.

This is a union position - International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE Local 465)

What your day-to-day will look like:

* Safely operate facility systems in compliance with all applicable government and regulatory requirements

* Perform maintenance and monitoring repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, and fire/life safety systems

* Maintain HVAC systems and equipment at optimum levels through cleaning, inspecting, and parts replacement

* Record readings and make equipment adjustments to ensure proper operation

* Monitor pricing and work quality of outside contractors

* Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner

* Assist management with emergency situations including fire alarms, chemical spills, and hazardous conditions

Required Qualifications:

  • EPA Universal

  • All HVAC personnel designated to work on, operate, maintain, and (or) repair HVAC equipment or systems shall possess one or more of the following certifications:

    • North American Technician Excellence (N.A.T.E.) Core Service plus Air Distribution Services Specialist or any service Knowledge Areas of Technician Expertise (K.A.T.E.) Specialty listed under the service category.

    • HVAC Excellence Professional - the following three certifications: Light Commercial Air Conditioning, Gas Heat, and Green Awareness Certification

    • UA Star HVACR Mastery Certification

  • A minimum of one year experience.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Location: Charleston, SC

Work Shift: On-site, Monday-Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a rotating on-call schedule for after-hour emergencies

Salary/ Comp:$33 hourly

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
