Department Summary The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) supports UCLA's community of educators in engaging in inclusive and research-based teaching practices in support of diverse learners, advancing instructional innovation and pedagogical research, and celebrating teaching excellence. To realize this mission, the TLC collaborates with instructors, leadership, and various campus partners to champion visionary ideas and forward-thinking initiatives that transform and elevate the teaching enterprise. Position Summary Reporting to the Director of Instructional Design & Media Production, the Senior Associate Director of Media Production provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Teaching and Learning Center's instructional and promotional media initiatives. This role leads a team of media production professionals and oversees multiple studio environments that create accessible, high-quality digital learning assets towards elevating teaching at UCLA. The Senior Associate Director is responsible for managing studio operations, workflows, budgets, infrastructure, and service delivery while ensuring media production aligns with instructional goals, academic standards, and institutional priorities. Working closely with instructional designers, faculty, educational developers, and researchers, the incumbent supports the creation of learner-centered multimedia resources, including video, graphics, animation, immersive experiences, and other digital assets, that communicate complex concepts and advance learning objectives. The incumbent also collaborates with TLC units to develop on-demand teaching resources and promotional content that showcase educational innovations. This position plays a key role in expanding scalable media production services, strengthening project management systems, and increasing faculty engagement in multimedia-enhanced teaching. The Senior Associate Director ensures compliance with ADA and WCAG accessibility standards, copyright and intellectual property requirements, and university policies. The role also represents the TLC in campuswide and UC systemwide initiatives and serves as a primary point of contact for instructional and promotional media inquiries. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience, advanced media production expertise, sound aesthetic judgment, and a demonstrated understanding of learning design and accessibility standards in higher education.
