We look forward to discovering your talents. POSITION SUMMARY: The focus of this position is to increase the prescribing of Halozyme products within the assigned geography. The successful Specialty Account Manager demonstrates an established and sustained track record of effectively educating, influencing, and selling targeted specialties (Urologists, Endocrinologists, and Primary Care Providers), along with their office staff, by presenting company-approved materials and maintaining a high level of knowledge of the condition and/or disease states along with the specifics of managed care insurance plans and state and federal payer programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: These may include but are not limited to:
Delivers company-approved data and science-driven sales presentations to target prescribers and their office staff. Utilizes company provided segmentation data and other information to customize presentations to individual physicians. Possesses the market, business, and product knowledge to engage in productive sales calls. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of managed health care plans, as well as state and federal reimbursement policies, to ensure that access to Halozyme products is not impeded. Educates physicians and nurses on how to teach patients to self-inject. Educates physicians and staff on the Halozyme product labels. Assembles and delivers educational programs for physicians, staff, and other groups. Coordinates lunch and dinner speakers to educate physicians and staff. Maintains a product business relationship with local and state specialty societies, and provides them with tools, resources, and information. Presents to and work with groups in medical systems in addition to calling on office-based practices. Successfully facilitates change management within accounts. Achieves quarterly and annual sales goals. Ability to partner effectively with Commercial Home Office, Medical Affairs, Key Opinion Leaders, and healthcare professionals. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor's degree and two or more years of specialty pharmaceutical selling experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of prescription pull-through tactics. Excellent negotiation skills. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong cross functional collaboration skills. Self-motivated. Ability to draw insights from data analytics that inform effective business planning. Demonstrates change agility in implementing new strategies and tactics. Ability to conduct sales calls, build rapport, interact while using electronic equipment, and make presentations to surgeons, physicians, nursing staff, hospital administration, payers, insurers, health-care providers, peers, coworkers, and others necessary to achieve territory sales objectives. Ability to effectively manage a large geographic territory assignment. Knowledge of software required: Tableau, Veeva, or ability to be trained in analytical toolsets.
